Pandemic Training Diary Week 1 Days 5, 6 & 7 I started out Day 5 in less pain than in the previous days, but my energy level was very low. Still not sleeping much. Rather than taking days like this off I negotiate with myself on low energy days that the workout can be low intensity, that it doesn’t have to be perfect. Better less intensity than no workout at all. Today was scheduled to be a Plyometric based workout. Plyometric is just a fancy way of saying bounce. I have one of those Rebounders that sit around in most yards, but you can do all of these exercises on the ground or on the floor. Just be careful to stay on your toes during the standing exercises. When you rest on your heels the impact is absorbed through your bones and joints. When you’re on your toes the muscles carry most of the impact. I’m still using the Tabata based Circuits because they seem to be optimum for keeping your metabolism up. (See my previous post at: https://www.facebook.com/HITTScarborough for ...
So, for some reason, I ended up writing two New Year poems this year. One while I was smudging and praying, which I've already posted. “Do less. Do it harder” Vince Gironda Week 6 of 6 of Gironda Lean Build Phase comes after few unscheduled days off due to gym availability. At my age a little time off is never a bad thing. This will probably be my last training week before taking the holidays off to let my body recover and go into the New year fresh and recovered. SUNDAY DEC 10: Bit of a rough night. Tossed and turned a lot. Feverish. Nothing I can’t handle. Today ended up being a day off due to the gym not being available. Slept in pretty late, so I managed to get a full night’s sleep. I think. Even laid in bed like Rene Descartes, just letting my mind wander, before getting up. Not active at all except for dog walks. Watched a recent UFC Card- Holloway vs. Aldo. Too old to stay up late for most of these cards now, so I tend to watch them a little after the fact. At least my trainer brain got a bit of a workout. Still love watching fights and breaking them down. No matter how much you know, breaki...
