Pig, Kwéskwes , is associated in many cultures with Abundance. But, for me, Kwéskwes associates most strongly with adaptability. There is a belief in biology that hunters need to be smarter than their prey and scavengers need to be smarter than the hunters. Pig is the ultimate scavenger and the ultimate example of when this is true. We can learn a lot from Kwéskwes . Unable to sweat she covers herself in mud to keep hers elf cool. Believed to be the great example of being unclean Pig is actually very tidy. With very few tools to defend herself with, Pig for m s groups based around the females and cooperates to keep each other safe. Pig is sensitive and smart while being one of the toughest and most adaptable creatures on earth. And Pig also teaches us to look beyond the surface , to learn beyond what we think we already know. m ost of our assumptions about Kwéskwes are wrong.
