HUNTER OF CONFLICT

Image
Coming together with Kèn:ri'ks, Lion, Hunter of Conflict is a an interesting sign. Conflict may speak of that Conflict within ourselves, which is always our greatest Conflict. It can also speak of the resolution of Conflict and turmoil. The Hunter is a seeker. One who must understand the Other in order to succeed. I was taught that True Hunting is never about killing. It is about the seeking and the understanding of the world around us. The Conflict that we must almost always resolve is the one within ourselves, which can never be resolved with the closing of our minds or our senses. For me, today, this sign speaks must strongly of seeking that path within myself that is most open to a relationship and a living in the world with others, particularly with those others who I do not know, do not understand, and have failed to seek peace and communion with. #hunterofconflict #shaman #oracle #oraclecards

Lion, Kèn:ri'ks – Spirit Animal

Lion, Kèn:ri'ks , speaks of Strength and Courage. But she also reminds me that Lion is the one big cat who does not hunt or live alone. Lion is the cat who cooperates, who communes, who Dances and Hunts with others in order to survive. Giving yourself over to others and trusting others requires more courage than most of us think. Yet I know that I would not be here without the help and the love of so many friends, family and even strangers. My instinct is to stand alone, to push all others away. But that is the easy way, the fearful way for me. Real courage for me, the courage of   Kèn:ri'ks, is to know and to remember that I cannot truly stand alone, and I do not truly want to stand alone. Real courage is knowing that it is love that has kept me here, and the courage of others. Real courage is bei

NEVADA SMITH

Let me start out with a confession: Steve McQueen was my first real man crush. I watched every single one of his movies more than once and some of them almost as often as I watched my favourite Martial Arts films. I wanted to be Steve McQueen. For much of my generation he defined cool. Other stars of his era and before could do tough and machismo, but McQueen just had an effortless physicality and presence, like he didn’t have try and he could do everything better than anyone else. That wasn’t an illusion. When I was working doing stunts I lost track of how many veteran stunt men told me that Steve McQueen was a better stunt man than most stunt men. Steve McQueen made everything look easy. Including acting. While so many of the Method actors of his generations pushed and strained and showed us how hard they were working, McQueen had a more minimalist approach that called more to mind Spencer Tracy than Marlon Brando. This has led many critics to underestimate just how good an ac
