JULES’ TRAINING & DIET DIARY ENDURANCE & METABOLISM RAMPING PHASE WEEK 3 MAY 27 – 29 “If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.” Maya Angelou Third Week of a 4 week Phase: Endurance and Metabolism Ramp, after a one week lay off to heal some injury and recover from exhaustion. This third week is going to be a bit of a struggle to complete because of a nasty shoulder injury, a deep bone bruise to my left rear collar bone, that still has not cleared up completely, and the fact that I did nothing for that week off and ate like a pig because I was depressed and feeling sorry for myself. It’s unlike me to fall into such a long slump and binge, but I’m dealing with some PTSD issues in therapy that are opening me up to depression because my go to reaction, rage, has been dealt with and left me without a shield in a world that I still don’t trust. SPIRIT OF DESTRUCTION

It's interesting that the sign of Spirit of Destruction should come hand in claw with Atí:ron, Raccoon, who is known to carry the Spirit of Destruction. Raccoon often leaves Destruction and chaos in her wake. We fail to remember that loss and Destruction are essential elements of play. We cannot play a new game until the old one is ended. We cannot know the joys of discovery and exploration without the possibility of getting lost. We cannot see what is in front of us if we are clinging to the things that are behind us. Atí:ron, Raccoon has been very present in my life of late. Raccoon is often seen as a pest and trouble maker, but she is also highly intelligent, resourceful and playful. She is the great thief of nature. And many know how difficult it is to stop her when she is determined to steal. Trouble makers knock the world off balance, reminding us that it is not nearly as solid and sure as we believe it be. This is just as true about each and any one of us. We convince ourselves and others that we are far more safe and secure than we actually are, and, in doing so, we rob ourselves of the possibility of true joy and freedom. Atí:ron knows that nothing belongs to us. That too is an illusion. The great thief is only seen as a thief because we convince ourselves that we can possess anything. Raccoon invites us to play and challenges us to let go. She comes to us in the darkness, as dreams come to us, because in dreams we can hold onto nothing. Atí:ron’s mask reminds us that identity too
